Brač Ferry is a small, independent site about the ferries to and from Brač. We'd like to know which pages people find useful, but only if you agree. Here's what that means in practice.
What we measure, and only if you say yes
When you first visit, a small bar at the bottom of the page asks whether we may use Google Analytics. Until you tap "Accept", nothing is sent to Google: the page doesn't even load Google's scripts.
If you accept, we load Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics 4. It tells us things like which pages were visited, roughly where visitors come from (country and city), what kind of device and browser they use, and how they found the site. We look at those numbers in total, to see what's worth improving; we don't try to find out who you are, and we don't run ads. Advertising features are switched off.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two cookies on bracferry.com: one called _ga, and one called _ga_ followed by an ID. They let it count returning visits and normally last up to two years. Without your consent, no cookies are set.
Your answer to the cookie question is saved in your own browser (not as a cookie, and not sent to us), so we don't ask you on every page.
Changing your mind
Open the cookie settings to accept or decline again. If you decline after accepting, the Google Analytics cookies are removed. The same link is at the bottom of every page.
Other things worth knowing
Fonts are stored on our own server, so loading the site doesn't contact Google Fonts.
Maps: the ferry map loads its map pictures from OpenStreetMap's servers, which see your IP address like any website would.
"Buy ticket" buttons take you to the ferry companies' own websites, which have their own privacy rules.
Contact form: it opens your own email app with your message filled in. We only get what you send us, and we use it to reply.
