Bol to Jelsa by catamaran

View from Vidova gora, the highest peak on Brač, over the sea towards the island of Hvar, with small stone cairns in front

Bol on Brač and Jelsa on Hvar are only a short hop apart, and catamarans link them all year: Jadrolinija sails every season, and Krilo Shipping Company joins in from 15 May to 30 September. Both are on their way to or from Split. Below you can see today's departures from Bol (or pick any other date), the full 2026 timetable and what the tickets cost.

Timetables checked 2 November 2026 against the official operator timetables.

When's the next ferry?

Bol → Jelsa

Other way: Jelsa → Bol

Good to know before you go

The Jadrolinija catamaran also goes to Stari Grad on Hvar, but on separate trips that don't stop at Bol or Jelsa. So there's no direct ferry between Bol and Stari Grad.

Our tips for the catamaran

These catamarans take foot passengers only, not cars. If you're travelling with a car, the way onto Brač is the car ferry from Split to Supetar (Split → Supetar) or from Makarska to Sumartin (Makarska → Sumartin).

As for the boats, Jadrolinija usually sends the catamaran Karolina (316 passengers) or Mila; Krilo Shipping Company usually sends the catamaran KSC Jaffa (around 250 passengers) or KSC Naranča (around 250 passengers). The companies swap boats from time to time, so yours may be a different one.

For the best views, sit on the right side, looking towards the front of the catamaran. We checked the route on the map: for most of the way the coast is closer on that side, so that's where the views are.

There are no seat reservations on the catamarans: you sit wherever you like, first come, first served. All of them have air conditioning.

Bags are stowed one by one as people board, so the first ones in end up behind everyone else's. If you board last, yours will be the easiest to get to when you arrive.
